A short clarification to prevent misunderstandings when several of your buyers take part in bidding on the same vehicle through one account.

Important to understand.
AuctionGate does not manage the bidding process and does not determine the winner.
The service records users’ actions and displays information received from the auction.

1. How the winner is determined

The priority rule differs before the live auction starts and after it begins.

  • Pre-Bid. Before the live auction starts

If several bids are placed before the start of the Live Auction, priority is given to the last bid placed before the Pre-Bid closes.

Not only the bid amount matters, but also the time when the bid was placed.

  • Live Auction. After the live auction starts

After the Live Auction begins, priority is given to the last bid placed during the live auction, even if another user had previously placed a higher Pre-Bid.

This is how the auction itself works, and AuctionGate follows this algorithm.

2. If two of your clients are bidding on the same vehicle

When several users of the same account simultaneously participate in bidding for one vehicle, AuctionGate records the actions of both users. To make this process transparent, a special feature has been implemented for Live Auction: during live bidding, users of the same account can see if their bid has been outbid by another user of the same account.

  • Green indicator

At the moment, your bid is the latest among the users of your account.

  • Red indicator

Your bid has been outbid by another user of the same account.

These indicators display only the actions of users within the same account and do not show bids from other auction participants. Feature availability  in the Chrome extension, in the mobile application — coming soon.

This feature was created so that users of the same account do not unknowingly compete with each other and can respond promptly during the Live Auction. At the same time, AuctionGate continues to operate according to the logic of the auction itself and only records users’ actions: priority always remains with the last bid placed during the Live Auction.

3. If a disputed situation arises

The won vehicle can be manually reassigned between your clients.

How it works

If after the auction ends the vehicle needs to be assigned to another of your clients, simply contact customer support.

  1. The account owner decides which client the vehicle should be assigned to.

  2. Sends a request to AuctionGate support.

  3. Support manually reassigns the vehicle according to your decision.
